Vintage Japanese Shakudo Hand-Fan Necklace with 24K Gold Inlay & Baroque Pearl Drop — 1930s

Shakudo and Niello together represent the very pinnacle of Japanese metalworking — two ancient techniques requiring years of mastery, combined here in a single piece of extraordinary complexity. The hand-fan pendant, gilded in 24k gold, hangs from a chain of panels each depicting traditional Japanese scenes in gold and silver inlay. A newly added baroque pearl drop at the base of the pendant introduces an organic, luminous counterpoint to the precision of the metalwork — the contrast between the two is quietly breathtaking. The box clasp is stamped K24, confirming the gold content.

In excellent vintage condition with minor age-related wear consistent with character. One piece only.
