A 1970s Chinese export necklace of black cloisonné enamel beads, each one hand-decorated with pink roses and green leaves on a deep black ground — separated by small gold-tone filigree spacers and hand-knotted throughout. At the centre, a large free-form Swarovski crystal pendant in deep amethyst, faceted and translucent. The darkness of the cloisonné and the depth of the amethyst are made for each other.
