Vintage Gold Crystal Chain Necklace with Antique Shell Cameo Brooch Pendant — 1950s

A 1980s gold-plated crystal-detailed chain — straight from the warehouse that supplied the great British department stores of the era — reimagined with a 1950s hand-carved shell cameo brooch. The cameo, a classical female profile carved with extraordinary delicacy from natural shell, sits in a gold-plated oval frame and can be detached and worn separately as a brooch. The crystal butterfly detail on the chain adds a quiet, unexpected accent that elevates the whole composition.

Shell cameo carving is one of the oldest and most painstaking traditions in decorative jewellery — each piece carved entirely by hand, no two exactly alike. In good vintage condition with the honest patina of age. One piece only.

Dead-stock vintage. An unworn item that has been stored for an extended period of time. Found in an untouched since the '80s warehouse that supplied the likes of Liberty, Harrods, and Selfridges.
