Vintage Gold Chain Necklace with Antique Cloisonné Pendant — 1950s

An unused 1980s gold-plated chain — straight from the warehouse that supplied the great British department stores of the era — paired with a 1950s antique cloisonné enamel pendant. Cloisonné is one of the most demanding enamelling traditions in the world; fine metal wire shaped by hand into tiny cells, each one filled with vivid colour and fired repeatedly until perfect. The clean structure of the chain lets the pendant do exactly what it should.

Dead-stock vintage. An unworn item that has been stored for an extended period of time. Found in an untouched since the '80s warehouse that supplied the likes of Liberty, Harrods, and Selfridges.
