Vintage Two-Tone Gold & Silver Rope Chain Necklace with Sterling Silver Openwork Pendant — 1980s ,1990s

A 1980s two-tone gold and silver-plated rope chain — unused, substantial and straight from the warehouse that supplied the great British department stores of the era — paired with a late 1990s sterling silver openwork pendant of remarkable complexity. The pendant is architectural in character: an octagonal frame topped with a sculptural bow, its interior filled with intricate fleur-de-lis, acanthus scrollwork and floral motifs worked in the tradition of 17th-century European decorative metalwork. The contrast between the warm two-tone chain and the darkened sterling silver pendant is immediate and entirely compelling.

Stamped on the reverse. Unused. One piece only.

Dead-stock vintage. An unworn item that has been stored for an extended period of time. Found in an untouched since the '80s warehouse that supplied the likes of Liberty, Harrods, and Selfridges.
